Messe Frankfurt awaits more than 4,600 exhibitors and about 160,000 visitors to take part in the 20th edition of the Automechanika Fair 2008. Since its debut in 1971, Automechanika has become one of the most important meeting places for decision-makers in charge of the automotive sector. The main subject this year will be: global warming and its impact on cars. What do the most recent innovations in CO2 emissions reduction and protection of emissions mean for the various parties of the market? At the trade fair, there will be a Green Directory visitor guide devoted to issues concerning energy products and the efficiency of materials and progress in the protection of emissions. A conference will also be held in which experts will discuss the reaction of exchanges to requests for CO2 reductions. This year's trade fair is unprecedented in terms of size and internationality with about 40% of visitors and 80% of exhibitors during the last edition coming from outside Germany. Automechanika was in Rome from 31st January to 2nd February 2008.
